Alright, I've done five or so of these memes maybe the trend will change before our next biking trip. But for now they're still producing gold and Easter Eggs for my blog.
This trip to Singapore/Malaysia was almost as spontaneous as the last ones (Korea/UK). We really only pulled the trigger on it about a month before. You see, because Holly and I are both in school, we have to plan our biking trips around the semester breaks which are in December/January and May/July to August depending if we take summer classes. So that leaves us only a few precious months for optimal touring. Then we have to factor in weather conditions during those months for certain countries and that really narrows the window of opportunity. We don't want to go when it's the rainy season or unbearably hot/cold for a destination. But this is half of the fun of biking trips: the planning stages and daydreaming. When we moved to Okinawa three years ago, we came up with a five year plan of living here and tentatively planned when we'd do biking trips and other adventures during each break and when. So far, it's held up pretty well despite working around various pregnancies and other mishaps.
