Day 4 - 5: Svinafell to Hofn

Miles: 81

We observed the Sabbath day and rested at the campground. We wanted to explore Svinafell a bit but it was so darn windy all day plus I was feeling worse. Later that night I had a fever and was freezing in the tent then very hot.

Today prayers were answered and we had a terrific ride!

Glacier central here. It's all neat.

Look how blue the water is. And how white Holly's face is. I told her she can't be like those Asians that try to Westernize by getting those crappy eye and jaw surgeries and skin whitener. Dang it, Asians are hot because they don't look like White people. To quote Obi-wan, "You're supposed to beat the [westerns] not join them!"

This river was really fast flowing with the occasional ice berg floating down it.

The black sand was so soft. I wonder what the drip sand castles would be like.

Love the jagged mountains of Mordor here in the southeast.

HQCH is a champ!

There are small towns with like 5-6 houses and then they have a church. It's like a modern day Tristram. I wanna ask a local how many people attend, etc.

Rare shadow pic.

We're almost to Hofn!

It's weird being greeted by a bike path. Do this many people use it? There's only 2,400 people living here. Which is big for Iceland standards.

We finally went out to eat! I was so ravenous.

Trying Langoustine soup! Dunno what that green stuff was.

And another serving of Langoustine. Hofn is known for it.

This was a rhubarb dessert thing. Not what I was expecting.

Happy 2 year anniversary to us!

Nothing wrong with it.

You should have tried the drip sand castle! What was stopping you?

Freezing water and wanting to hit the road. Dang it, now I'm mad I didn't do it. There should be another black sand beach along the way.
